Anabas moves forward with Norgine

24 June 2009

Anabas has secured a major new £multi million deal to provide a turnkey solution for leading European speciality pharmaceutical company Norgine’s new corporate offices.

Anabas secured the win following a competitive five-way pitch to undertake the project, a full relocation for the company’s 180 staff. The contract will also entail all design, space planning, fit-out and relocation. Norgine is an independent, successful European specialty pharmaceutical company that has been established for over 100 years and has a presence in all the major European markets.

Norgine is currently based in one commercial park over two sites across a total of 27,500 sq ft. The move will see Anabas manage the process of re-housing the company under one roof, in a freshly created office space spanning 47,500ft in Harefield, Uxbridge. The move for Norgine is a long term strategic solution for its future expansion, with the investment enabling the business to reduce its overhead costs and manage its continual growth. The design implemented by Anabas will provide flexibility to meet the growing needs of the business and an intelligent working environment for its people. The site will be a long term home for Norgine after it signed a 20 year lease to occupy and re-brand the premises as Norgine House.

Managing Director of Anabas, Mark Cooper commented; “We are delighted to have won the contract to work with Norgine and it will be a massively exciting project to undertake. We will be taking a very strategic approach to the year long project making sure that everything from the design and move to the change management programme is implemented efficiently. We will draw on our in-house experience to ensure that the service offering is comprehensive and meets all of the client’s needs. Having completed projects in the design and fit out arena for companies including the Newspaper Society and RTS, we are well placed to undertake this contract for Norgine.”

Jo Pillai, VP Human Resources at Norgine, said; “We were looking for a company with a good cultural fit, and one able to provide a multi service offering working as an extension of our own team. The straightforward, transparent and professional approach at interview impressed us, and, importantly, the Anabas team ticked all of the boxes in terms of delivery of the project to the tight schedules imposed; our final decision however, was weighted in their favour by the cultural fit and synergy between Anabas and Norgine. We have previously been through the process of refurbishing and re-fitting our existing spaces and we now have a fantastic opportunity to create a new home with the help of Anabas. The development of the new offices enabling us to house everyone under the same roof, plus our confidence in our business model, is an extremely exciting time for us. This project is critical for us and is a real investment in our future. ”

Established in March 2003, Anabas is a full service provider for total facilities management. Employing over 900 people throughout the UK and Ireland, it has offices in London and the North East. The company is SAFE contractor, ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited and works across, leisure, retail and commercial sectors with an impressive and diverse portfolio which includes GAP, The Body Shop, MTV, Crabtree & Evelyn, Nickelodeon, The Newspaper Society and City & Guilds.
