APOLLO OFFERS MORE THAN MOST AT INTERNATIONAL FIREX

30 April 2009

The latest audio visual devices, a highly accurate range of intelligent fire detectors and a new sensing technology that can detect a fire before it develops fully are among the many product innovations being launched by Apollo Fire Detectors on Stand C10, Hall 3 at International Firex 2009.

The new sensing technology is called MOST, which stands for Metal Oxide Sensing Technology. It detects the rapid diffusion of gases given off at the pre-combustion stage of a fire for very early detection. A further benefit is that MOST is equally capable of detecting both flaming and smouldering fires, whereas current technology detects one or the other. Demonstrations of MOST will take place on the Apollo stand on the hour, every hour throughout the exhibition.

Accompanying MOST will be the enhanced Discovery® range of intelligent fire detectors. Featuring the latest electronic enhancements, Discovery detectors are now even more capable of eliminating unwanted alarms. The range includes a multisensor that is capable of providing separate heat and smoke outputs. Discovery’s ability to respond to fire situations while ignoring transient triggers will be demonstrated regularly on the Apollo stand.

Visitors to Stand C10 will also be able to view the new Deckhead Mounting Box. Designed to protect detector bases, sounder bases and sounder beacon bases from the ingress of water or other contaminants through the rear of the base, the new Deckhead Mounting Box is ideal for marine applications with visual and audible alarm requirements.

Further product innovations that will be on display include a Discovery Open Area Sounder Beacon and an XPander® Input/Output Unit.
