Network and learn at European FM conference

Two days in Amsterdam in June promises learning from the experience of the best in the UK and Europe in FM, and gaining a greater understanding of the trans-border FM challenges. Booking is open for EFMC2009 16-17 June.

Challenges facing the FM community will be at the fore in Amsterdam in June, when the doors open on the annual European FM conference, EFMC2009. Based in the Okura Hotel, Amsterdam, EFMC 2009 is held from 16-17 June

A recession and home and abroad means that those FM with responsibilities for an international property estate and FM services have to understand the scale and scope of challenges facing them in each country of operation. EFMC 2009 brings together European FMs and researchers in a Business Conference and Research Symposium with unparalleled opportunities to learn best practice from colleagues across the EU. Its theme is "One world, different problems - joint efforts, sustainable solutuions."

The conference programme addresses the range of critical issues facing FMs and built environment professional in Europe including energy consumption, cultural and economic change, Topics covered include FM strategies in a global world, redefining ‘core’ business of FM, life cycle management, the economics of FM with more than 50 international FM experts contributing.

Keynote speakers are Miha Pogacnik, the Slovenian Cultural Ambassador, and Rob Creemers, a Dutch information industry trend watcher. New this year is the FM debate of the Year addressing issues surrounding outsourcing.

The conference is supported by more than 30 national FM associations and 41 research and educational institutions.

Highlight of EFMC2009 is the European FM Awards for Partners Across Borders, European FM Researcher and European FM Student of the Year. This is held at the Gala Dinner on 16th June at the Okura Hotel.
