POWERFUL SPACE PLANNING FROM INTEGRATED FM

15 April 2009

The Workspace fm suite of space management tools from Integrated fm provides a comprehensive range of tools, designed to reduce operating expenses, optimise space and maximise the productivity of assets. Incorporating the latest CAD technology, Workspace fm also features integral CAFM capabilities to facilitate sharing of CAD-based information with other areas of FM operations.

Easy to use, the software rapidly generates queries from CAD drawings, images and data and allows this information to be shared between departments using built-in intranet/internet functionality. Workspace fm also includes powerful report generators, with full integration of drawing and database records for easy ‘slicing and dicing’ of information.

The graphical interface provides a strategic overview of key parameters, such as the total amount of vacant space across the estate, with functions to quickly drill down for a more detailed view in specific areas. It also provides accurate data for contract renewal, with precise space measurements and the ability to define space by type (e.g. floor covering and associated cleaning requirements).

Workspace fm also includes ‘what if’ scenario analysis, enabling FMs to carry out a virtual move of people and assets to evaluate the feasibility and impact of changes before any physical moves are implemented.

Underlying the user-friendly front end are advanced technologies such as ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) for sharing information with external databases. Three-dimensional capabilities mean that 3D information can be added to any object, and converted to 2D for editing and plotting.
