LAW IN ORDER

14 November 2008

Mailroom specialists Envosort again demonstrate their expertise and flexibility by planning and equipping a new multi-faceted facility for a leading London law firm – and much of which was CAD planned off-site during building work at new premises. The cost-effective project also embraced the printing, archive and stationery rooms.

Holman Fenwick Willan is an international law firm which specializes in shipping and transport, trade and energy, insurance and reinsurance, and commercial law – and it also embraces one of the largest international arbitration and dispute resolution practices of its kind. All of this has amounted to steady success and the need to relocate to a larger office near the Tower of London. Fortunately they managed to find the right building across the road from their current location.

One of the key areas that needed to be designed for an instant working environment was the crucial Post Room. Enter Envosort. As HFW had commissioned Envosort in the past to design and install the current mail facility they were given the opportunity to start again and design and quote for a new more complex layout. Because of building work, it was not possible initially to see the room, so it was a case of not only a design - but more importantly - Envosort needed the customer to visualize it from their thorough CAD plans.

After inspecting the current Post Room to study the working layout and discussing the move, Envosort was also asked to provide expertise and products for a further three areas – notably the Reprographic, Archive and Stationery/ Store rooms.

The overall installation went efficiently and smoothly with no disruption to ongoing activity, as follows; Post Room: 11 x of Envosort’s famous Series 90 benches - some of which incorporate lockable cupboards to secure valuable items for delivery - 26 columns of Flexi build sort units to cater for internal post and worldwide offices, a packing bench for parcel preparation, storage racking for the goods - in area and recently 2 GT2 Trolleys for the post runs. Reprographic Room: Series 90 benches x 9 customized versions to ensure the correct work flow for printing was maintained including accommodating five large print/copiers, and to fit in all binding equipment. Plus wall shelving to store plain paper and binding extras. Archive Room: Again Series 90 benches – two at sitting height for employees to use, as well as Series 90 benches x 2 at standing height for storage. Wall shelving and storage racking also included. Stationery Room / Store: 6 Units x Modular racking as well as three recently added Roll Cages.

The HFW manager responsible for this area is Peter Graham, and he is very pleased with the overall result” It was a brilliant project with Envosort. Aside from designing from a distance, as it were, they also had to contend with an L shaped main room – which meant shaping furniture around pillars. It has been of major benefit to be able to source an integrated interior from the one specialist manufacturer and it all looks very bright and modern, whilst being robust enough for the function of this area”.
