Specialist cleaning contract to Initial Industrial Services

22 October 2008

Linde Material Handling, the leading manufacturer of forklift trucks and warehouse vehicles, has awarded a contract to Initial Industrial Services worth more than £1 million per year.

Under the agreement, Initial Industrial Services will provide a range of cleaning and support services – including specialist cleaning operations such as paint shop and machine shop cleaning, waste and recycling management, kitchen cleans and washrooms solutions – at Linde Material Handling’s two UK manufacturing sites in Basingstoke and Merthyr Tydfil.

Linde Material Handling was looking for a partner that could provide specialist cleaning but also manage other essential support services. As a result, Initial Industrial Services developed an integrated solution utilising other leading service providers within the Initial Facilities Services organisation. This innovative approach will enable Initial Industrial Services to provide a tailored, high-quality service that creates synergies and drives down cost.

The cleaning solution will cover all factory, office and external areas, as well as including specialist paint shop services. Elsewhere, Initial Industrial Services will undertake a detailed waste management audit to increase recycling at both sites to and reduce the need for landfill waste disposal.

Larry Armitstead, Maintenance Manager at Linde Material Handling: “We needed a partner that understood our precise needs and possessed the required know-how to provide and manage a diverse range of cleaning and support services. Initial Industrial Services has access to extensive resources to self-deliver all aspects of the solution and supply a truly-integrated management offering.”

Colin Marshall, Business Development Director at Initial Industrial Services said: “This contract demonstrates our ability to provide excellence across a number of service streams by making the most of the wide-ranging expertise available within Initial Facilities Services. This multi service solution taps into best practise across the organisation to best meet the requirements of Linde Material Handling.”
