Expanded and new office locations for SPIE Matthew Hall

10 October 2008

SPIE Matthew Hall has opened four new facilities in Poyle, near Heathrow, Manchester, Glasgow and Cardiff.

The Manchester and Glasgow offices are relocations to larger premises due to the expansion of its customer base. Cardiff is a brand new venture to allow SPIE Matthew Hall to better service its customers in Wales and build its business in the region. Heathrow will continue to support the airport sector as well as customers in the Thames Valley.

2008 sees the companies’ 160th commemoration having being founded by Matthew Hall in 1848. Established as a lead working and plumbing business the Matthew Hall brand was involved in prestigious projects from the outset carrying out engineering works on buildings such as Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Natural History Museum.

SPIE Matthew Hall continues in the tradition of its market leading heritage and has recently completed extensive mechanical and electrical engineering installations at Heathrow’s new Terminal 5. Other recent multi technical projects have included St Pancras International, Shell Centre and the current Savoy Hotel refurbishment in London.

Kevin Morgan, Managing Director of SPIE Matthew Hall said, “The opening of the new offices demonstrates SPIE Matthew Hall’s commitment to its customers in the UK. The Matthew Hall name is synonymous with quality and reliability and this year is the 160th commemoration of the Matthew Hall brand and it continues to go from strength to strength. 160 years of innovation and high levels of customer service has put SPIE Matthew Hall at the forefront of our industry and we constantly strive to improve the services that we provide to our customers”.

The new locations offer customers a range of design, prefabrication, supply, installation and commissioning services for mechanical, electrical and fire engineering projects. Each office will provide project managers, engineers, CAD operatives, quantity surveyors and estimating staff to support the engineering and service delivery teams throughout their respective regions.

SPIE Matthew Hall operates within sectors including airports, manufacturing, detention, defence, retail, transport infrastructure, leisure and telecoms. Working on projects varying in size from £5,000 up to £50 million, SPIE Matthew Hall provides its customers, with whole life support to their building engineering assets. It is part of the international SPIE Group. With a turnover of €3.5 billion in 2007, the SPIE Group employs 27,000 staff operating out of 400 Pan European locations in 28 countries. SPIE Matthew Hall’s regional network in the UK consists of 7 major facilities located in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Heathrow and Bristol.
