M Group Services acquires Skanska UK infrastructure division

06 May 2021

Following the exchange of contracts last December, M Group Service has confirmed it has completed the acquisition of the Skanska UK infrastructure services operation.

The company had announced revenues of £320m prior to its purchase for an undisclosed sum.

Completion of the deal has seen the creation of Milestone Infrastructure, which will operate as a standalone business, according to Infrastructure Intelligence.

It is the twelfth acquisition completed by the company since December 2016 and continues the growth aspirations of M Group Services.

The new company will provide highways maintenance, street lighting and infrastructure projects through existing relationships with local authority clients around Southern England.

Rail infrastructure service provider teams will transfer to the M Group Services transport division Dyer & Butler, as part of the formation of a larger rail business.

Milestone will see Adrian Cooke continuing in his role as managing director, reporting to M Group Services transport division managing director Neil Edwards.

Mr Cooke said the acquisition will provide "the platform for the next exciting stage of our growth", following the building of strong client relationships in the highways sector.

"With the support of the group, and the financial scale that this brings, we are perfectly positioned to identify new opportunities to expand our presence, cement our leading market reputation and to be the first choice for improving and maintaining highway infrastructure in the UK," he said.
