Having worked closely with the Co-operative Group to deliver a coordinated approach to their Mail Services operation, Envosort were recently invited to assist in designing and implementing a tailored solution for CIS, the insurance arm of the financial services business.

As Andy Farrell, Facilities Manager (CFS) observes“ As a consequence of a major modernisation programme within CIS, a very real need for a combined approach to service delivery was identified, particularly within the Postal Services function within the Miller Street operation in Manchester. This is a substantial network, which has already delivered significant efficiencies and cost savings for our business. Due to a real understanding of the project requirements by Envosort and a partnered approach to designing and delivering cost effective, innovative solutions, this installation will provide the department with sufficient capacity to accommodate future growth whilst being particularly modular to adjust to the changing needs of our diverse business.”

The CIS Postal Services Hub now has the capacity to receive in excess of 15,000 pieces of mail and despatch 20,000 items of mail per day; in addition to handling and processing 1,500 pieces of accountable mail each week. The Envosort equipment mainly features the Series 90 heavy duty benching range; combining durability with distinctive modern design and value-for-money and including, for example, mobile benches which can simply be wheeled to and from the sort units. The sorting equipment is from Envosort’s Flexibuild range, which offers modular adaptability.
