FM and property management integrated into managing agent remit

07 April 2021

Integration of FM, property management, accountancy and managing agent responsibilities have been announced by Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management (REIM).

FM industry analysts have predicted growth in consolidation announcements in the coming months, as the UK continues to ease lockdown restrictions and businesses reopen their facilities.

For REIM, its consolidation will see the three services become the responsibility of Mapp, which currently manages real estate to the value of approximately £13.2bn around the UK.

The company will oversee the REIM estate, which comprises 3.4m sq ft of office and industrial development across the UK.

This can also be seen as a continuation of the previously-identified trend for the increasingly close alignment between FM and real estate management.

REIM head of UK Mark Millar said: "We are pleased to have been able to agree a transfer of our team and our clients to Mapp."

Mapp chief executive officer Nigel Mapp said his company had "looked beyond the transaction and individual contractual commitments.

"We saw the opportunity to bring a great team, with shared values, into our business and to deliver a really great property management services to Edmond de Rothschild and some if its long-term and valued clients."
