M&E provider rescued from administration following acquisition

02 July 2020

Specialist FM, maintenance and construction provider RFM Group has announced it has acquired mechanical and electrical (M&E) service provider Hevertech for an undisclosed sum.

The company had entered into administration in April, with all staff made redundant, and it is hoped that former employees can be recruited as part of the new arrangement.

Hevertech will be integrated into the operations of its new owner’s Construction division and this is being led by RFM Group transition and implementation project lead Nik Ashworth.

The company’s services include HVAC and electrical delivered to clients such as Lidl, National Rail and Mecca Bingo.

The RFM Group employs more than 200 people and recorded a turnover in excess of £13m in 2019.

Its chief executive officer Ian Flanagan described Hevertech as having earned a reputation as a “strong market leader providing energy solutions for building services.

“Their ethos and reputation complement RFM Group’s property expertise, built on technology. “I see great potential to develop their services by utilising RFM’s robust processes and smart technology.”

Hevertech is the group’s second acquisition, following its purchase of Ashlynn (Yorkshire) last year, and it continues to seek further opportunities to acquire others in its drive for additional growth in the future.
