Multi-faceted business celebrates Sunday Times Best 100 success

Sewell Group, which covers a range of disciplines in addition to that of FM, has been named as one of the best UK companies to work for.

It is ranked number 32 in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, the fifth time it has appeared on the list and the eighth time it has achieved a Best Companies accreditation.

From its headquarters in Hull and offices in Huddersfield, York and Willerby, the company provides FM, strategic estates, development and construction solutions and also operates 13 fuel and convenience stores.

Sewell Group employs 450 staff and this year saw it improve on its previous listing by achieving the Best Companies 3 Star 'extraordinary' accreditation.

Response to the Sunday Times staff was provided by the company's staff and 20 of its team attended the award ceremony in London.

Replies to the questionnaire showed high levels of engagement by management and within teams, providing opportunities for personal growth, wellbeing, leadership and exemplary treatment of employees.

Response is required from a minimum 40% of employees, but Sewell Group achieved a level of 80% from its workforce.

Office manager Jo Taylor-Standley was quoted by Hull Daily Mail as saying: "The people at Sewell Group are what makes it the best place to work - we are like family and I'm pleased to go to work every day. I love it," she said.
