£500m heating and renewables framework launched

14 October 2019

Details of a nationwide framework for the supply of heating and renewable energy solutions for the public sector have been published, worth up to £500m over four years.

It includes both domestic and commercial solutions required for public sector bodies ranging from housing associations to local authorities.

Divided into relevant lots, these cover services such as consultancy, design, servicing, maintenance and installation.

Renewable technology is also included within the list of projects, including air- and ground-source heat pumps, solar thermal and others to support electric heating and hot water systems.

A number of projects are related to district heating systems and additionally include the installation and servicing of heat interface units.

Divided into 10 lots, one of these will focus on education - in partnership with the Department for Education - to meet the requirements of educational facilities' heating requirements.

The framework has also been structured to allow SME companies to apply and "bid for works suited to their experience and expertise", according to the announcement.

The deadline for submissions is 12 noon on 20 November and more information is available from procurement framework company Fusion21.
