Maintenance company bought by cleaning franchise operator

07 August 2019

Commercial property maintenance provider AMG Contracts has been acquired by Tidy Green Clean for an undisclosed sum.

It is the first in a number of additional acquisitions by Tidy Green Clean, which operates on a franchise model as an environmentally-friendly cleaning business.

Both companies are based in Aberdeen, Scotland and future purchases are planned for other businesses in the same area and beyond, according to yesterday's announcement.

Tidy Green Clean stated that these are a result of its four years of "dynamic organic growth".

Managing director Andrew Alleway said his company's first acquisition had "allowed us to test our systems, processes and policies to the full, and we have benefited from a good relationship with AMG and their strong desire to ensure their clients' service levels were maintained or improved through the sale.

"We have taken on more than a dozen new clients, all of whom are now experiencing the Tidy Green Clean difference, and I am pleased to say, the majority have been retained," he said.

AMG acting managing director Karen McPherson said she was "delighted" to hand the business to Mr Alleway and his team.

"He has been extremely helpful as we wind down our business and has taken over the contracts smoothly, with minimum disruption to our people and our customers," she said.
