The service will be held at The Medway Crematorium, Robin Hood Lane, Blue Bell Hill, Kent ME5 9QU at 11.30am.

His family have confirmed that his friends and former colleagues from the FM industry are welcome to attend the service, but have requested that they confirm their attendance in advance.

Those wishing to pay their respects should email Jane Fenwick, who is another former PFM editor and friend of Mr Byatt, at

Ms Fenwick is also compiling a list of messages of condolence that will be shared with Mr Byatt's family in due course.

A Just Giving page has been set up in Richard's name. Rather than sending flowers, family and friends are invited to donate to his favourite charity, the RSPB

Mr Byatt passed away on 17 May following a short illness and his death came as a shock to his family and friends, as he had continued to follow a healthy and active lifestyle.

Tests are continuing to determine the cause of his fatality, although the issuing of an interim death certificate has allowed plans for his funeral to go ahead.
