Pickfords wins contract to move the European Banking Authority to Paris

Pickfords Business Solutions has been appointed to relocate the European Banking Authority to Paris this Spring.

The European Banking Authority resides on the 46th Floor of One Canada Square in Canary Wharf and ensures effective and consistent regulation and supervision across the European banking sector.

Following the UK’s vote to leave the EU and its need to be based in an EU country, the Authority has taken the decision to move and will be relocating its entire operation to La Défense in Paris.

The scope of works includes the move management and relocation of a significant volume of assets, IT workstations, filing and furniture from London to Paris.

Pickfords will also by providing an environmentally friendly furniture recycling and reuse service by placing unwanted office furniture in the UK within its extensive network of furniture resellers, charities and business start ups.

Pickfords was selected following a formal bid procedure lead by Head of Business Solutions Martin Budd, with the project scheduled to start in May.

The European Banking Authority considered proposals from a number of potential suppliers and followed a rigorous selection process before appointing Pickfords Business Solutions to manage the cross border commercial relocation.

The Head of Business Solutions from Pickfords said “We are delighted to have been appointed following the selection procedure and following the successful relocation of NATO’s headquarters in Brussels last year.

"The European Banking Authority will be able to draw on the knowledge of our project team, our experience in cross border business relocations and our local resources in the UK and France.

“We look forward to working with the bank’s management team during the transition.”
