FM responses sought in call for evidence

10 April 2019

Contributions to the construction sectors reforms following the Grenfell Tower disaster are being requested from the FM sector in particular by the Construction Products Association (CPA).

Having launched a Call for Evidence, the CPA has extended the deadline for reply to 23 April and is appealing for FMs and their supply chain to respond.

This follows the Hackitt Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety which highlighted the need to address issues surrounding the supply of construction product information.

Although the study has received more than 400 responses to date, the CPA says these are mainly from manufacturers, architects and product distributors.

Designed by the CPA Marketing Integrity Group, it is attempting to gain more responses to improve the balance of opinion by including FMs, service providers, engineers, consultants and surveyors.

Marketing Integrity Group chair Adam Turk said: "We've been encouraged to see so many responses to our survey in the space of just a few weeks.

"A strong balance of input from across the supply chain, however, is crucial if we are to make recommendations that can really have an impact.

"That's why we are seeking responses in particular from facilities management to help reduce risk in our built environment," he said.

The CPA Call for Evidence can be accessed here.
