Pickfords win RoSPA ‘Presidents Award’

Celebrations were underway across Pickfords following the RoSPA occupational Health and Safety Awards ceremony at The Hilton Hotel Birmingham in May.

Managing Director Kevin Pickford was presented with the ‘Presidential Award’ for Occupational Health and Safety 2008. This ‘Presidential Award’ is the result of achieving RoSPA’s Gold Award for ten consecutive years.

As a Gold Award winner for the past ten years Pickfords has demonstrated; a well developed occupational health and safety management system, an outstanding control of risk and a rigorous approach to occupational health.

Every year RoSPA invites companies and orgnaisations of all sizes and a whole spectrum of industries to enter the awards process. Pickfords was the only Removal and Storage Company to be honored with this prestigious award in May.

My thanks to our Health and Safety team and our employees across the country who have demonstrated such a great commitment to continuously improve our health and safety management.”
INITIAL WINS TWO PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

Initial Facilities Services has won two prestigious Health and Safety Awards for the second year running, further underpinning the company’s ongoing commitment to excellence in this area. The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety ‘Gold Award’ and the British Safety Council ‘International Safety Award’ are designed to recognise and reward those organisations that lead the field in improving corporate health and safety and to encourage others to follow their example.

Commenting on the awards Peter Turner, Head of Risk Management at Initial Facilities Services, said: “These awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill health at work - they are also about ensuring that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place. This helps to reinforce that good health and safety is good business and these awards clearly demonstrate our commitment to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area.”
