Whitbread renews FM contract with Johnson Controls

13 May 2008

Johnson Controls Global WorkPlace Solutions has successfully retained its contract with international hospitality company, Whitbread Plc. Under the agreement the company will continue to provide integrated FM solutions to Whitbread’s three flagship sites in London, Luton and Dunstable.

Covering 115,000 square metres, the sites are crucial to Whitbread’s operation as the headquarters of its leading brands: Costa Coffee, Premier Inns, Brewers Fayre and Beefeater Restaurants. Each site has differing and specific FM needs, with functions including a customer care centre and development kitchens. Johnson Controls will continue to manage a breadth of services at these sites, including catering, reception, security, engineering and post, as well as conference room management.

Nigel Trotman, Business Relationship Manager at Whitbread Plc, comments: “Over the past six years, Johnson Controls has provided us with a spectrum of services that have been of real benefit to our business. By providing an integrated solution at each of these three sites, Johnson Controls has enabled us to run efficient and productive facilities and make considerable cost savings. We look forward to the continuation of this positive partnership and drawing on Johnson Controls extensive capabilities to support our own business.”

Andy Eastwood, Director of FM, EMEA, Johnson Controls Global WorkPlace Solutions, adds: “The hospitality industry is a competitive market place and Whitbread therefore needs flexible facilities that support the expansion of its business as it brings on board new brands and products. With Johnson Controls taking responsibility for providing an effective working environment, Whitbread is able to focus on its core business activities and continue to be the number one brand in hotels, restaurants, and coffee shops across the UK.”
