ISS Mediclean wins multi-service contract at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has awarded an integrated facility services award to ISS Mediclean for three major hospitals in West London; Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte & Chelsea and Charing Cross Hospitals. Over the life time of the contract the total value is expected to exceed £100m

ISS Mediclean will be providing a wide range of services including: patient catering and hostess service; staff and visitors restaurants and cafés; healthcare ward & public area cleaning; specialised and miscellaneous cleaning; portering, postal and logistics services; pest control and window cleaning services. .

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust was created in October 2007 by merging St Mary’s NHS Trust and The Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and integrating with Imperial College London Faculty of Medicine. It is believed that this is the first time that a single contractor has held all four prestigious units.

Speaking after the award, Simon Cox, Managing Director of ISS Mediclean said; ”The Trust is a world class organisation, having recently established the UK’s first Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC), which will bring significant research and innovative benefits to patients in London and set an example for other Trusts to follow. In the same way, ISS Mediclean intends to develop the soft services at these hospitals and create, along with our existing contract at St Mary’s Hospital, a Centre of Excellence for facilities services in the NHS.”
