Blue Diamond acquired by Solo Group

Solo Group Services has acquired business assets of commercial cleaning company, Blue Diamond Services’.

This has considerable benefits for Solo and with the increase in staff to over 4500 people, the group will be able to provide full national coverage with operational centres in all areas. Solo places great emphasis on staff development, as well as providing high levels of customer support to ensure it delivers quality, performance and accountability to its customers at all times.

Solo was established in 1990 by its Group Managing Director Stephen Hammett and has grown steadily over the last 18 years with a turnover expected to be in excess of £30m in 2008. It provides a wide range of services in commercial office cleaning, retail, education and transport cleaning. Its new London operation will be headed up by Trevor Smith, Divisional Director for London and the South East. Trevor has over 30 years experience in the cleaning sector in this area.

Meanwhile, Blue Diamond Group Chairman, Harvey Alexander, says he is ‘very pleased with the outcome because it enables the existing management team to continue to realign and focus on the group’s core activities – including the soon to be launched group brand Sixis.’ Sixis will bring together a diverse portfolio of companies that includes market leaders such as Wesurail and English Landscapes. These will continue to operate under their existing trading names and corporate identities, while Sixis will provide a unified group image for future activities.
