Elior UK to cater for EDF Energy

04 February 2008

Avenance, part of Elior UK, has won a new seven year, £multi-million contract with leading energy supplier EDF Energy, providing catering services across 24 UK sites.

Commencing immediately, the contract will see Avenance provide full catering services at 11 sites (many of which are call centres), plus managed hospitality services at 13 subsequent locations in England. In line with Elior’s policy of developing and supporting sustainable catering services and EDF Energy’s own strong commitment to the environment, Avenance will provide food sourced from local suppliers wherever possible and a menu developed around seasonal produce. Healthy eating, recycling and socially responsible initiatives will also be a key focus.

The contract consolidates services currently provided by Baxter & Platt and Aramark, plus an entirely new 13 site service.

Suzy Kitcher, Sales Director of Avenance’s southern region commented: “We are particularly proud to win this contract as we knew that EDF Energy was looking for an innovative solution to their catering requirements as well as a strong sustainable development offering. We very much look forward to delivering on these as we start work with them this year.”

Ray Hughes, Senior Contracts Manager for EDF Energy’s Property Services added: “We are extremely pleased with the appointment of Avenance who will work with us to deliver ethical and sustainable catering services, in 24 of our sites across the UK.”

Mike Audis, Chief Executive of Elior UK concluded: “This important win gives us a great start to the year, which we aim to capitalise on as we move into 2008 with renewed vigour.”
