Contract wins for Incentive FM

16 January 2008

Three recent contract wins for Incentive FM span traditional head office FM, complex European multi-site reviews and consultancy across a wide range of industry sectors.

Incentive FM has announced three new business wins, further consolidating its position as lan independent facilities management company. It has been awarded a contract at the UK head office of Forum Bioscience in Redhill, Surrey. Founded in 1981, Forum started as a distributor of life science ingredients to the Pharmaceutical, Food, Feed and Health Products industries and has since expanded its skill base across the life sciences value chain. Following a restructuring of the business, Incentive FM was invited to table a business proposal to take over the full FM responsibilities for the building and put in a new team on site to deliver the services. The bid was successful and all existing suppliers have been moved across from Forum to Incentive, resulting in minimum of disruption for the business.

In 2007 Incentive FM announced that it had been chosen to undertake a European review of the FM structure at Delphi, a leading global supplier of automotive components. In 2008 this work has been successfully expanded to include a much enhanced brief across Europe following the early stages of its work in The Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey, Poland, Morocco and Slovakia. Incentive FM has provided detailed reports indicating the opportunities for restructuring and cost savings mainly in the contract services areas of their facilities spend. The focus has been in the areas of catering, mechanical and electrical maintenance, cleaning and associated disciplines.

Jeremy Waud, Managing Director at Incentive FM, said: “The challenge to find substantial savings in economies where wage costs are approximately 30% of our own is not to be underestimated. Perhaps it is for this reason that we have identified such large scale savings opportunities for Delphi, who as a unit cost driven automotive component manufacturer, are very keen to affect efficiencies throughout their businesses. Our work now includes a mixture of first stage reviews and assistance with implementation in all counties mentioned before but also now including Spain, France, Portugal, Germany and the UK.”

Incentive FM is also undertaking a major piece of consultancy work for Earls Court and Olympia, the famous exhibition and conference centres in West London. This work was awarded following the acquisition by the now majority shareholder, Capital & Counties (Capco), which is Liberty International’s UK non-shopping centre and international business, with £1.8 billion of investment properties. It involves a review of all the FM activities and will include an assessment of the effectiveness and appropriateness of the structures, systems and procedures in place and recommendations for the future period. Also included in the work is The Brewery in the City of London.

Jeremy Waud, said: “A major consideration for the venues clearly is its health and safety regime – not surprising given the high risk environments that the business operates within and the complex exhibitions, stands and stage sets that are regularly erected, suspended and dismantled at mind boggling speeds for the wide ranging events that they host. All three venues are providing a very interesting and challenging review task for our team.”
