PTSG is a safety champion with Gold Medal award from RoSPA

11 April 2017

Premier Technical Services Group PLC, the UK’s leading provider of niche specialist services, has been recognised at the highest level for its outstanding commitment to safety with the award of a Gold Medal at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2017.

The Gold Medal is presented to companies achieving five or more consecutive annual gold awards through the prestigious annual initiative by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

To be successful in the scheme, entrants’ overarching health and safety systems are judged, with best practice in areas such as leadership, learning and workforce involvement considered.

PTSG has been a gold winner at the RoSPA awards for the last five consecutive years (2013-2017), and has won a plethora of other awards including six consecutive International Safety Awards from the British Safety Council.

The company also holds more than 120 industry accreditations. PTSG’s specialist service offering includes façade access and fall arrest equipment services, lightning protection services, emergency lighting testing and portable appliance testing.

The company also specialises in steeple jack services and high level cleaning, using rope access, abseil techniques, ladders and mobile elevated work platform methods.

Terry Wilcock, PTSG’s Health, Safety and Environment Director, said: “Much of what we do in our daily work is considered high-risk, with works taking place at heights or in hazardous environments, and therefore an extremely rigorous approach to health and safety is required.

“Our commitment to health and safety best practice has led to the development of our dedicated training solutions division, which offers tailored training and development courses for people and organisations working at height.

“All of our people are trained to the highest safety standards and follow safe systems of working using the correct equipment for the job. We continually monitor our safe performance targets to seek continuous improvement.”

Paul Teasdale, CEO of PTSG, says the company has put health and safety at the forefront of its business since day one in order to secure its reputation as an industry leader:

“At PTSG, safety is always our primary concern. Before we carry out any work, we must ensure what we do is safe for our people, our clients and the general public.

“To be the number one niche specialist service provider in the sectors in which we operate, we must always take our approach to workplace health and safety very seriously.

"Since we were formed, we have always strived to implement best practice in our workplace health and safety.

"We are the only company of our kind to employ a full-time Health, Safety and Environment team.

“I am delighted that we have been awarded a Gold Medal by RoSPA; it is testament to all the hard work our people put in day in day out and I’d like to thank them all for their commitment to and focus on safety.

"We will continue to work to the highest health and safety standards possible and live by our philosophy and commitment that: ‘If something can’t be done safely, we won’t do it.’”

PTSG will be presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

The award has been achieved during a special year for family-safety, as RoSPA celebrates its centenary.

PTSG celebrated its 10th anniversary in February 2017 and a month later, being listed on the London Stock Exchange, the company announced strong trading results for its year-ended 2016.
