Capita Symonds supports FM students

04 January 2008

Capita Symonds, one of the UK’s largest property and infrastructure consultancies, showed their support for Sheffield Hallam University by sponsoring a number of awards at the 2007 Student of the Year Awards.

The Blackburn branch of Capita Symonds sponsored the outstanding student Awards for the MBA and Undergraduate Certificate in Facilities Management. High achieving students were rewarded at the prize giving event at Cutlers Hall in November prior to the Graduation Ceremony.

Keith Edwards of Capita Symonds, Blackburn said “As a leading provider of Facilities Management Solutions we are delighted to offer our support to the University and to sponsor these two awards in particular. The centre provides an excellent base to progress within the Facilities Management field and students such as these, who excel in the subject, will be an asset to the working environment”

Jill Fortune of Sheffield Hallam University presented winners, Nicholas Nurden and Dean Legg with their prizes. Jill said "Gaining industry recognition for the students on our education programme is really important, it endorses the applied nature of learning for FM practitioners at Sheffield Hallam University and rewards these students' outstanding achievements". Sheffield Hallam University offers the Foundation Degree and an MBA in FM. All their educational programmes are delivered part time and in short intensive study blocks to suit the working FM practitioner at every level of experience.
