Data centre healthcare specialist acquired by ABM UK

28 February 2017

News of the acquisition of data centre healthcare specialist 8 Solutions for an undisclosed sum by ABM UK emerged yesterday.

It follows the company's previous acquisitions over the last five years to further its aims to become a fully-integrated service provider.

The company purchased OmniServ in 2012, then GBM Support Services Group in 2014 and Westway Services in 2015.

Following its acquisition, 8 Solutions will henceforth be known as ABM Critical Solutions.

It has over 25 years' experience in data centre healthcare and has more than 230 clients, including BT, Vodafone, Lloyds, TSB, Legal & General, BP and National Grid.

Core offerings include services such as technical cleaning, testing and consultancy, airflow management, raised access flooring, remediation, fire stopping, contamination management and room integrity testing.

8 Solutions managing director David Hogg is a chartered accountant and previously worked for a number of organisations as finance director, including Associated British Ports, Chubb Fire & Security and May Gurney.

Mr Hogg said the move would provide the "added expertise and support" to continue to help the business stay ahead of its competitors and emphasised the focus on customer service shared by both parties.

ABM UK managing director Andy Donnell said the importance of minimising server down-time now has a direct influence on the bottom line of a business.

"Over the last 25 years, 8 Solutions has built an enviable reputation in helping clients maintain optimum performance levels and we very much look forward to working closely with David and his team," said Mr Donnell.
