Improving Indoor Air Quality for Schools

According to the Department for Education, in January 2016 there were 8,559,540 pupils attending 24, 288 schools throughout England*.

With approximately 75% of a pupils time spent inside, these figures raise concerns regarding exposure to high levels of CO2 as well as air pollutants.

Indoor air quality can directly affect pupil attendance and performance rates. In fact, research suggests that poor ventilation in the classroom significantly reduces a pupil’s attentiveness and vigilance whilst having a negative effect on concentration and memory.

Regular servicing and maintenance of a school’s heating and ventilation system helps improve the air quality and comfort of the overall learning environment.

Tidyco Limited Climate Control Division has been providing scheduled maintenance and repair services to schools for a number of years and has specific knowledge within the learning sector.
