Harrow College cleaning contract awarded

13 November 2007

Temco Services UK have won a major contract to clean both campuses at Harrow College, its first contract in the education sector.

Following the success of contracts with the London Borough of Harrow and South Bucks District Council, Temco are now firmly established as providers of contract cleaning services to the public sector. Harrow College were focused on improving standards on these busy sites so a professional, proactive approach was a key driver. Temco’s proven business model is based on improving productivity through a well managed balance of enhancing the employment terms and conditions of staff, combined with investment in new equipment and technologies. Harrow College also demanded improved control and reporting on the essential periodic element of the contract. Supervisors are given new clear operating procedures and reporting tools so work was identified, scheduled and satisfactorily completed first time.

Andrew Philpot, Temco’s Managing Director is clearly delighted.
“Since Temco UK was established seven years ago we have focused on improving productivity by rejecting the low pay/low esteem approach so often used in the cleaning industry, and attracting, developing and retaining highly capable employees. Following implementation our staff have demonstrated the intelligence and flexibility needed to meet the changing daily demands of these sites, and are working as a team to deliver the highest possible standards.”
