Partners for military training facilities win top FM Award

06 November 2007

A partnership specially created to support the training needs and facilities for the Armed Forces won the Partners in Multi Service Award and the Overall Award at the PFM Awards 2007 held at The Brewery, London on Tuesday 6th November.

Winners of the Multi Service Award and the Overall PFM Award, Lardmarc Support Services and Defence Training Estate, are strategic partners for the delivery of a £600m contract for 10-15 years to manage, maintain and develop military training facilities across the country. Landmarc Facilities is a joint venture company between Interserve Defence and CSC Applied Technology Division formed for this contract to provide a comprehensive package of traditional hard and soft services, that includes maintaining ranges and training areas, roads, tracks and conservation areas as well as traditional facilities support and catering, and a central booking service for all training facilities.

The judges said, ” The scale of this contract is significant both in its geographical spread, the range of services delivered and their complexity. The size, scope and criticality of this partnership is demanding enough but what has developed is an excellent partnership that works at all levels.”

The PFM Awards dinner held at the Brewery this week (Tuesday 6th November) was hosted by sports commentator, Clare Balding, and was attended by more than 600 people from the FM sector. Now in their 14th year, the PFM Awards are recognised throughout the FM sector as the premier accolade for best practice in working in partnership to deliver facilities and support services across a broad spectrum of activities and industries.
