SFG20 updated and online

A new, updated and interactive version of SFG20 - Standard Maintenance Specification for Building Services - has been launched as a web based service which is easy to access and can be updated regularly.

SFG20. widely used as the industry standard for businesses or individuals responsible for maintaining, managing and specifying the maintenance of building services, is also an essential tool for tendering maintenance contracts. This latest updated version is more comprehensive than earlier editions and includes detailed maintenancne schedules for all principal types of heating, cooling and ventilation plant commonly used in Europe. More that 60 equipment chapters are featured together with more than 500 maintenance schedules, and it now includes estimating times and frequencies, and a search facility to easily find the information needed.

Definitive and detailed maintenance schedules are given for heating and pipework systems, ventilating and air-conditioning, controls including BMS and BEMS, ancillaries, plumbingand sewerage systems, and electrical services including power supplies and assocated electrical equipment. The SFG20 website will be regularly amended to ensure the information is up to date.

SFG20 is also being made available as an addition to the widely used Concept 500 CAFM software package from FSI (FM Solutions) Ltd.

Peter Excell, chairman of the HVCA's Service and Facilities Group, said, "The maintenance of building services is a huge responsibility. Increasingly complex regulation requires buildings to be adequately maintained as energy efficient. Applying the standards and procedures detailed in SFG20 will ensure safe and efficient operaton of all relevant building services."
