Scottish FM wins contracts in Egypt

15 October 2007

A JV company set up by Scottish FM specialist, Key Facilities Management, has picked up two contracts just weeks after opening an office in Cairo. Key MENA, a joint venture between Key FM and the Dar Al Mimar Group, will manage five multi million dollar developments across Egypt from Cairo, to the Red Sea and along the northern coast of Egypt on behalf of the development company, Mountain View.

The value of the consulting and management services contracts is expected to range from $250,00 to $1 million per annum.

Key MENA will be involved in the design, specification, operation and maintenance of the developments, including their structure and service offerings as a gated community. In addition, Key MENA will provide ongoing support of the owners when the developments have been completed. The first phase of the developments scheduled for hand over in November 2007.

Stan Mitchell, CEO of Key Facilities Management and CEO/Managing Director of Key MENA said: "Egypt is going through a period of sustained economic growth and development as a result it is beginning to attract significant levels of foreign investment across new build, expansion and regeneration. As one of the longest established businesses in the facilities management sector, we will use our expertise and experience with the help of our JV partner to set new standards within the Egyptian market. As well as introducing new concepts to the market from design through to operation we are investing heavily in the training and development of what is a very competent and motivated workforce."

Key MENA was chosen because of its ability to contribute real value through its consulting expertise in areas such as design and operational strategies. At the same time, its management services division will take ownership on behalf of the developer and ultimately the owners to provide the highest standards of service and operation. This ability to contribute not only to the concept of such developments, as well as deliver high quality of service and support to the occupants, makes the company almost unique within the Egyptian marketplace.
