FM sector’s success in Queen’s Awards

Several facilities management businesses have received recognition within today’s Queen’s Awards, including Premier Workplace Services.

Recognised within the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, the company won its award for its sustainable office furniture service.

Its Renew Centre played a significant part in the award, the company said, being the only independent UK commercial facility for remanufacturing, refurbishing and repairing of desks, chairs and other office furniture.

Premier Workplace Services managing director Jerry Marks said his company was “absolutely thrilled” with its win. “We are committed to delivering our services fairly and responsibly and attaining the best financial, social and environmental outcomes for our clients’ resources.

“It’s great to be recognised for our achievements and leadership in sustainable development.”

Another FM-focused business to achieve success is workplace management company Condeco, recognised within the Innovation category of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

Founder and chief executive officer Paul Statham said his company was “honoured” to receive the award.

“We regard this as a win for the whole of the corporate real estate industry, which is contributing fantastically to business change in the workplace,” he said.

Further recognition was also achieved by MCP Management Consultants within the International Trade 2016 category, reflecting its increased sales to North America, Asia, Europe and the UAE.

Managing director Peter Gagg thanked “dedicated staff, clients and suppliers for their support” in winning the award.

“Winning the Queen’s Award marks a change in the business and reflects the commitment of our employees, associates and clients who supported the company throughout this time,” he said.
