DORMA unveils new space-saving folding door

07 September 2015

Global partner for premium access control solutions DORMA has announced its latest space saving folding door – the FFT Flex Green

Designed to offer the maximum opening within tight structural widths, the quieter, more dynamic folding door has been certi?ed for escape routes and achieves market leading thermal separation.

At 2.4 metres, the FFT Flex Green has the widest clear opening in the market and can be specified up to 2.5 metres in height. It offers a particularly suitable solution where a small structural width has to be utilised to the full. The folding door is an option for both external and internal doors and is ideal for barrier-free access points where space is limited, emergency exits, and escape routes.

The folding door benefits from an intelligent drive system that detects wind loads and compensates accordingly for superior operating smoothness. Furthermore, it offers improved dynamic response and silent efficiency by transmitting its power without toothed belts. Consequently, the doorset opens and closes particularly quickly, yet also quietly and with minimum wear.

High-quality insulation glass achieves outstanding thermal separation, with very low thermal transmittance values (UD Values) from 1.7 to a maximum 2.4.

The folding door adheres to EN 16005 standards, and is especially shock and impact resistant. It also utilises DualDrive technology and is safeguarded with self-monitoring sensors, offering an operationally dependable and secure solution for emergency exits and other similar areas of the building envelope.

DORMA’s product range of space saving doors are compatible with CODIC MasterCard, MATRIX Professional Electronic Access Control solutions, traditional card and proximity wall reader systems.

“At DORMA UK we pride ourselves on creating innovative access solutions and offering a complete one-stop service to all of our clients,” commented Phil Jones, Strategic Marketing Manager at DORMA UK. “Folding doors are ideal space saving solutions for when there is insufficient lateral space for sliding doors or front and rear space for swing doors. With the FFT Flex Green Folding Door, DORMA UK is able to provide commercial schemes with an intelligent door operating system with a multitude of design and performance benefits.”

For smaller applications the FFT Flex Green also has a smaller option consisting of just one pair of panels, which uses a unilateral opening doorset to create an opening width of up to 1.2 metres.

The FFT FLEX Green Folding Door is available now. For more information visit www.dorma.com, follow @DORMAUK or view the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9TCbqTC5kM
