06 May 2011

The security business of MITIE has changed its name to MITIE Total Security Management, it was announced this week.

MITIE Total Security Management has 12,000 people protecting the premises and personnel of 4,000 clients at over 10,000 sites in the UK and Europe. Its new name reflects MITIE’s integrated approach to security provision, via its consultancy, innovation and delivery model, which offers clients higher service levels with greater cost efficiencies.
Bob Forsyth, managing director of MITIE Total Security Management said, “Total security management has been our ethos for over a year now; taking our clients’ risks and threats into consideration and moving away from the traditional commoditised approach and using innovation at every opportunity. We are making a step change in the security industry with TSM and our belief in this approach is so strong we have changed our name.”
MITIE has made significant investment in innovation over the last year with the formation of an expert security risk and business resilience team. It has also appointed Brett Lovegrove, former head of counter-terrorism at the City of London Police, as a strategic advisor for to the business and for MITIE TSM clients.
