11 November 2010

A partnership between Freidman FM and The TreeHouse Trust has won the Partners in Education FM and the Overall Award at the PFM Awards 2010 held at The Brewery, London on Wednesday 3rd November.

The TreeHouse Trust, a small charitable body serving children with autism and their families, partnered with Freidman FM at its purpose built school in North London. The challenging educational environment has tested the innovation and ingenuity of the Freidman FM team to maintain the teaching environment in which these autistic children can learn, thrive and achieve.
The judges said " This is one of those rare and delightful partnerships where achieving a single goal is more important than who works for whom. The partners make the ordinary possible for the school’s challenging pupils, but it takes the extraordinary to achieve this every day."
The Lifetime Achievement in FM Award was presented to John De Lucy, Director of Estates and Facilities at the British Library who throughout his career has been at the forefront of the evolution of facilities management, from pioneering flexible working and wi-fi in the workplace to supporting excellence in facilities management in the UK, Europe and around the world. He is the current President of the International Association of Museum Facility Administrators (IAMFA).
The PFM Awards dinner held at the Brewery this week (Wednesday 3rd November) was hosted by TV sports presenter, John Inverdale, and was attended by 594 people from the facilities management sector. Now in their 17th year, the PFM Awards are recognised as the premier accolade for best practice at working in partnership to deliver facilities and support services across a broad spectrum of organisations in the private and public sectors.
