Another three years FM at ING Bank for Sodexo

21 January 2010

Sodexo has retained its contract with ING Bank which began in 1982 for a further three years as part of a multi-million pound deal.

The ING Bank contract, which originally started over 25 years ago in 1982, is worth £18 million in total turnover. Sodexo employs 80 people at the central London site to provide integrated facilities management (IFM) services to the company’s 1,700 employees and subtenants. Sodexo provides catering, cleaning, security, mailroom, receptions, switchboard, space planning, help desk, archiving and record services.
In the last six years, the contract has grown from being solely catering, to what is now a total FM deal. Simon Knight, Sodexo operations executive at ING Bank, said: “This achievement has been possible by working in a true partnership with the client, understanding their needs and working together to achieve common goals.”
In addition to retaining this prestigious contract, Sodexo has also announced that it has achieved the ISO9001 accreditation for catering at ING Bank.
James Greetham, Sodexo business director, said: “Retaining this contract with ING is a great achievement for Sodexo’s Corporate Services division, and recognises the excellent, long-standing relationship we have with the client. The team has worked extremely hard to grow and nurture the business. The ISO9001 accreditation is recognition of the hard work and dedication to service that the team has demonstrated on a daily basis.”
Mike Smith, head of premises and facilities at ING Bank, said: “We have enjoyed a long-term, successful business partnership with Sodexo. Initially the relationship was restricted to soft services only but, in 2007, we awarded Sodexo an FM contract which encompassed all of our facilities activities including both hard and soft services. Sodexo performed excellently in the first three years of operating the contact and has delivered on all cost reduction and service level targets. This success has led to us extending the contract for a further three years which we believe will be equally successful for both parties.”
