Dalkia delivers more FM for Welsh Government

05 March 2008

Dalkia has retained its contract with the Welsh Assembly Government in a contract that allows Dalkia to provide flexible, effective services to the WAG, building on the company’s long-term relationship with the Welsh regional government.

The renewal of this contract maintains a partnership already successful for over 10 years, which has seen Dalkia’s remit extended gradually from the management of the original 30 buildings, to the control of an evolving estate, currently comprising 90 buildings across the WAG’s property portfolio. The new contract will provide complete management of a wide range of FM services and be run from Dalkia’s Cardiff office. The services provided by Dalkia include the management of works and maintenance contractors, financial budget and the WAG’s capital expenditure works program, to ensuring compliance to all statutory legislation, and including the provision of a Helpdesk service based in Cardiff.

This renewal of Dalkia’s contract also provides an opportunity to support the Welsh government’s commitment to environmental legislation and sustainable development; this is an area within which Dalkia has extensive experience, drawn from its CarbonCare solution. It also extends Dalkia's public sector activities in Wales where it already provides FM and energy focussed services to many public sector buildings in Wales including civic centres, hospitals, council offices, swimming pools, community facilities and care homes.

“The unique structure of Dalkia’s contract with the Welsh Assembly Government will further develop our long-standing relationship,” explains Neil Perkins, Contract Manager at Dalkia’s Cardiff office. “The flexibility of this property management model has proved very effective, and the extension of this contract is very welcome.”
