Gradus launches Esplanade 8500 primary barrier matting

14 April 2015

Contract interiors specialist Gradus has extended its primary barrier matting collection with the launch of Esplanade 8500, a heavy duty mat suitable for use in demanding environments

Esplanade 8500 has been specially developed for use in both interior and exterior environments subject to heavy foot and wheeled traffic, such as shopping centres, supermarkets and railway stations.

Available in 12mm and 18mm thicknesses and in open and closed construction, the new matting system comprises rubber wipers and silver anodised aluminium linking strips. The rubber wipers, available as either single or double, are ideal for scraping off dirt and are available in plain rubber or rubber interwoven with nylon fibres, with a choice of two colours - grey or black.

The silver anodised aluminium linking strips help to reduce strobing in brightly lit environments. Karen Burman, Product Manager for Gradus Matting, comments: “Esplanade 8500 is an incredibly durable matting system ideal for a variety of commercial applications where a heavy duty solution is required.

“Esplanade 8500 has been rigorously tested to ensure suitability for use and achieves a low risk of slip using the HSL ramp test for slip-resistance.”

The new primary barrier mat can be manufactured to most shapes and sizes, on approval of a template, and can be installed alongside Gradus’ Boulevard secondary barrier carpet.  When installed as a true rectangle or square, the mat can be reversed, which extends the life of the product.
