Setcrete Rapid Set Flexible Wood Flooring Adhesive

25 March 2014

Setcrete, manufacturer of high performance flooring products for the professional builder, has launched Setcrete Rapid Set Flexible Wood Flooring Adhesive, a fast-setting wood flooring adhesive that cures in just 16 hours. Part of the Setcrete ‘Rapid Set’ range, this new adhesive is suitable for the installation of engineered or solid timber planks, wood block and wood strip flooring.

Formulated to be flexible with a high bond strength, the adhesive delivers optimum performance to meet the demands of wood flooring installations, in particular, coping with the natural movement of wood caused by changes in temperature and humidity. The adhesive is also suitable for use on floors with underfloor heating systems and, because it is solvent-free, it can be used in even the most sensitive settings, including healthcare environments.

Because of wood’s high sensitivity to moisture, it is essential to check that a subfloor has an effective damp proof membrane in place and that the moisture content of the subfloor does not exceed 65% relative humidity (RH). If this is not the case, Setcrete Rapid Set DPM can be applied to the subfloor, quickly providing a durable and effective barrier against moisture. Setcrete Rapid Set Flexible Wood Flooring adhesive can then be applied directly to the DPM.

Setcrete Rapid Set Flexible Wood Flooring adhesive is available in 8Kg buckets and is supplied with a purpose-designed spreader to ensure accurate coverage. Each bucket has a coverage area of approximately 8m2.
