Amadeus offices refurbished

04 February 2014

Amadeus UK and Ireland offices have been refurbished for cellular offices and meeting spaces

The Interiors Group, working with The Devonshire Partnership, has completed a refurbishment for Amadeus UK & Ireland, a provider of IT solutions to the travel and tourism industry.

Amadeus enables the industry to become better connected by providing smarter technology solutions that links travel providers (including full-service carriers and low-cost airlines, hotels, rail operators, cruise and ferry operators, car rental companies, travel insurance companies and tour operators), travel sellers (including online and offline travel agencies) and 21st century travellers.

The brief was to carry out a 16,000sqft refurbishment of an existing space with the creation of cellular offices and meeting spaces, a branded reception and new break-out spaces.

Michael Short, director of operations for Amadeus UK & Ireland said: “The Interiors Group approached this project with some great ideas to implement the design concepts and were always able to adapt to changes along the way, while still delivering the building to timetable. Their practical approach and positive attitude throughout the eight week schedule provided a level of confidence on the project.”

The Interiors Group said it carried out a lot of work to get the project just right, in terms of design options and making sure the manufacturer had the correct information. A particular challenge was the co-ordination of the positions of the fantiles located in the front-of-house areas that were within the timber flooring.

In order to meet the challenge, The Interiors Group met the challenge head-on, ensuring fantiles were positioned in a way so as not to be too prominent and therefore spoil the intended design. The colour scheme throughout looks striking, utilising Amadeus’ company colour palette of royal blue and white.

Visitors are welcomed by the large blue Amadeus logo behind the white gloss reception desk and the white office desks and cupboards have sky blue tops with a combination of sky blue and white chairs.

A movable foldable partition was installed in the training room, which The Interiors Group had to custom-make owing to the perimeter of the building the ceiling was at a lower level, so they had come up with a detail that accounted for the change in ceiling height.
