Knowsley Schools gets seven new learning centres

14 November 2013

A scheme by Knowsley Borough Council to build education facilities in the heart of its local communities has resulted in seven learning centres that replaced 11 existing secondary schools. Multikwik Sanitary Frames was the answer for creating the modern, clean bathrooms to fit these modern learning environments.

One of the schools is the 900-place Christ the King School in Huyton. Winner of the 2009 British Council for School Environments (BCSE) Awards for Inspiring Design, it offers pupils and staff a modern, light and bright spatial experience.

A range of flexible spaces allows one-to-one and small group teaching, lectures, practicals and even outdoor learning opportunities. The school includes large open spaces which can be used for performing arts, social activities and by community groups. The school was a design and build project for Transform Schools, the PFI arm of Balfour Beatty.

The WC facilities are no exception to this design philosophy, thanks to Multikwik Sanitary Systems concealed bathroom frames which were used to hang the sanitaryware on the wall. This gives the bathrooms a sparkling, up-to-date feel and makes them quick, easy, and hassle-free to install. As well as facilitating the installation of clean, modern sanitaryware designs, Multikwik Sanitary Systems offers the opportunity to hide many obtrusive and unsightly pipes and fittings – vital in schools where the risk of damage or vandalism is high.

Multikwik Sanitary Systems offers designers complete design freedom, maximising bathroom space even the most compact bathrooms and washrooms. The range 820mm and 1185mm frames features a module for every type of bathroom fitting, including WCs, urinals, bidets, baths, showers and special needs fittings.

There is a complete range of sanitary frames in the Multikwik portfolio that make it cost-effective, reliable and above all straightforward to install wall hung sanitaryware. The frames maximise bathroom space even the most compact bathrooms and cloakrooms and give a really modern professional finish. Add compact cisterns, sleek and stylish flush plates, water saving flush valves and new chrome compression fittings and the Multikwik range now definitely has the wow factor.
