Extended D-Link IP camera range sharpens focus on business security

08 May 2013

Cameras provide even more surveillance options for businesses to safeguard their premises

D-Link says it has added two new High Definition cameras to its IP Surveillance suite, to provide more flexible options for businesses looking to secure their premises – inside and out. The introduction of the DCS-6210 and the DCS-3010 means that managing security easily is now a reality for businesses of all sizes.

The DCS-6210 is a discrete, full HD Mini Fixed-Dome camera with a vandal-resistant dome casing and is suitable for deployment indoors or outdoors. It features a 3-axis adjustment so the lens can be positioned to cover a wide field of view. The camera also has a Black Light Compensation ability to provide images in difficult lighting conditions, such as corridors or areas affected by changes in natural light. The weather-proof exterior is built to withstand tough outdoor environments and, combined with full HD (1080P) resolution, makes this an ideal solution for use at campuses, remote warehouses, distribution centres and business park units.

The addition of the DCS-3010 entry-level HD PoE Fixed Network camera to the
D-Link IP Surveillance Suite, means even the smallest businesses or average home can quickly set up an IP Surveillance solution. The camera features a high definition (720P) image and a lightweight frame for simple installation, along with suitable image quality for most businesses’ needs.

Andrew Mullholland, Business Solutions Manager at D-Link UK & Ireland, commented: “IP Surveillance makes managing security much easier and more flexible compared to using traditional CCTV and, as a result, we’re seeing a lot of growth in the market. Adding more cameras to our IP Surveillance Suite gives businesses of all sizes the option to install surveillance devices that perfectly fit their needs. The accessible price point of our two new cameras ensures cost is not prohibitive to any business wanting to improve its security.”

Thanks to the Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality, installation in a variety of locations is easy, as there is no need for a separate power supply. The cameras can be programmed with motion detection or timed on/off. They are also able to mask unwanted areas of coverage and users can secure access to certain feeds. Both cameras also feature two-way audio, which enables businesses to communicate with visitors and/or employees, as well as warn off intruders. Email notifications can be set up to provide alerts of suspicious activities, enabling users to increase the speed of response.

These features, combined with the ability to log into the camera remotely over any network to view and manage feeds and activity schedules, give businesses the flexibility and security they need for complete peace-of-mind, whether they are on the premises or not.

Additionally, these cameras provide a scalable solution for businesses looking to future-proof their investment. This is thanks to the free bundled D-Link D-ViewCamTM management software that enables management of up to 32 cameras, allowing companies to easily create a professional surveillance solution.

The D-Link IP Surveillance Suite includes a wide range of cameras, network video recorders (NVRs) and video management software (VMS) to help companies coordinate streams from multiple units.
