The new Testo 875i Thermal Imaging Camera

05 September 2012

Providing professional and versatile thermal imaging – with excellent thermal sensitivity, outstanding image quality and easy handling.

With the new Testo 875i models, the German manufacturer Testo is launching a technologically sophisticated and well thought-out thermal imaging camera which is universally suited for a wide range of applications including many for the industrial thermography market. The image quality and technical equipment set standards in this class.

With the further development of their proven Testo 875 models, the measurement technology specialist Testo is offering an extremely well thought-out thermal imaging camera for entry into professional thermography. Thanks to the excellent thermal sensitivity of < 50 mK, and the outstanding image quality with 160 x 120 pixels, (which can be increased to 320 x 240 pixels with the SuperResolution technology), even the smallest details and the finest temperature differences can be identified with the new Testo 875i.

Sabine Hinkel, Head of Product Management, advises: "In the technological reworking of the Testo 875, we rigourously took our customers' experience with this imager into account: The intuitive operability and the practical pistol design were retained, the technical equipment specification and performance were considerably improved and are now at a level, which up to now was unknown in this class of Thermal Imaging Camera."

Excellent thermal sensitivity and image quality
In addition to the excellent thermal sensitivity (NETD) of < 50 mK, with which even very small temperature differences can be measured, the new testo 875i offers the possibility of of recording thermographic images with the patent-pending SuperResolution technology.

With SuperResolution, additional real measurement values are recorded, and the usable, geometric resolution of the infrared image is improved by a factor of 1.6 – with up to four times more measurement values / pixels. For the new Testo 875i, this means in respect of reporting capabilities, an image resolution of 320 x 240 pixels is achieved. With these high-resolution thermal images, which are conveniently available in the analysis software, thermographic measurements can be conducted with a high level of detail depth and security.
For professional industrial thermography
The new Testo 875i allows easy and safe detection of problem spots on site in industrial thermography applications: Condition monitoring and thermal inspections can be conducted on electrical and mechanical installation and thermal manufacturing processes. The thermal images can be viewed and confidently analysed on the large 3.5” LCD display. Critical temperatures and hot / cold spots are directly shown in the display.

Spoken comments relating to the respective measurement can be recorded using the headset provided with the Voice Annotation feature. Thanks to the built-in laser pointer, the user can visually confirm the location of the measurement point.

Detailed analysis and reports can be carried out easily and reliably on a PC thanks to the easy to use professional analysis software. The automatic storage of the digital image at the same time as the thermal image also allows inspection routes with several similar measurement objects to be reliably worked through and analysed, the digital image being an aid to identification and location.

The handling and operation of the imager as well as the PC software are intuitive, and offer versatile possibilities: from one-hand operation, speed button programming and the possibility of using exchangeable lenses, up to image overlay of real and thermal images (TwinPix).

The new Testo 875i with improved technical equipment is the first choice in this class for all users who are looking for reliable and professional thermographic measurement technology.
