Portal provides spares

21 May 2012

Amaryllis has been awarded a national contract by Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) to provide furniture spares and components including replacement keys to its customer base. As part of the contract, Amaryllis and YPO have worked together to develop a unique secure online shopping portal.

The portal provides a fully compliant contracting and ordering solution for a range of furniture spares, consumables and minor works services for public sector customers. Examples of the specialist items available through this portal include: chair castors, desk raisers, dry wipe / notice board fittings, key cupboards, pedestal handles, replacement pedestal locks, replacement storage unit locks as well as a comprehensive key cutting service.

“This new facility enables a wide range of public sector organisations to benefit from our nationwide service network,” explained Joanna Knight, Sales and Marketing Director at Amaryllis. “Previously, the administration costs of purchasing many of these low cost items and services could be prohibitive but this online solution is ideal. What’s more repairing a chair or replacing a lock is a far ‘greener’ alternative to purchasing new.”

YPO is a joint Committee of Local Authorities providing a professional procurement service that provides public sector customers cost and efficiency savings through bulk buying power and the convenience of a 'one stop shop'.

With annual turnover of £400m, YPO is the largest formally constituted public sector buying organisation in the UK. Across the country YPO customers include schools, academies, colleges and universities, in addition to local government departments, charities, social enterprises, and the emergency services.
