North of England acquisitions announced

06 September 2018

Two acquisitions in the North of England have taken place, providing further indications that activity in the FM sector shows no sign of abating.

South Yorkshire property group Barnsdales acquired Bridge Property Management, based in Swinton, Rotherham, for an undisclosed sum.

This will further extend the activities of Doncaster-based Barnsdales, which includes a number of divisions providing FM, residential lettings, commercial property and auction services.

Its acquisition of Bridge Property Management will extend its services further, with its staff numbers increasing from 17 to 40 as a result of the deal.

Barnsdales managing director Jason Barnsdale said the last two years had seen his company increase the volume and geographical coverage, working with clients across the UK on FM and property management.

The acquisition of Bridge Property Management will add more than 200 fully-managed properties to the company's portfolio.

Following the purchase of Swift Facilities Management by MJF Facilities Management for a five-figure sum, the company said its area of coverage now stretches from Hull to Manchester.

Founder and managing director Martin Ferguson said the acquisition had enabled his company to "substantially widen our footprint", according to Rotherham Business News.

The take over of Swift Facilities Management also signals the first of the MJF acquisitional aims, with the intention of driving further growth in the future, he said.

Founded in 2006, the company has expanded its window cleaning service to provide commercial cleaning services and resin floor installations.

The company currently employs approximately 150 people and includes a number of blue chip companies in its client portfolio.
