Queen's birthday honour success recorded by two leading FM sector players

Two of those named in the Queen's Birthday Honours List will be known to many in the FM sector.

BDO National Head of FM Sector Satvir Bungar, who also serves as a judge within the PFM Partnership Awards, was awarded an MBE for services to corporate finance.

Mr Bungar has been involved in a number of the many collaboration moves seen within the FM sector, most recently including the Asset Solutions management buy out from the OCS Group.

Speaking exclusively to PFM, Mr Bungar said: "I’msure my efforts as Head of FM sector where I collaborate with sector bodieslike yourself to help make a positive difference has helped me achieve thisrecognition."

BSRIA chief executive Julia Evans was also recognised in this year's honours list, receiving an OBE for her many efforts in a number of areas for the built environment and FM sectors, including energy efficiency and wellbeing.

In addition to her current role, Ms Evans is a governor of Leeds College of Building and will soon become its chair.

She is also a board member of the UK International Women's Federation and was previously chief executive of the National Federation of Builders and chair of the Trade Association Forum.

"I am honoured to received this award which in every way is a reflection on the hard work and efforts of my colleagues at BSRIA and of the wider built environment sector," said Ms Evans.

BSRIA includes many hard service FM providers among its members.
