Rexel UK achieves prestigious certification

18 October 2017

Leading electrical distributor, Rexel UK, is celebrating achievement of certification to four globally recognised ISO and OHSAS standards across its entire UK business.

Recognised for its commitment to maintaining robust management systems for ensuring continuous improvement, Rexel has been certified for its environmental management system (ISO 14001); quality management system (ISO 9001); energy management system (ISO 50001) and health and safety management system (OHSAS 18001).

John Hogan, Rexel UK and Ireland CEO, said: “Each of these certificates is an achievement in itself, however to have achieved all four across our entire UK business really is a great accomplishment for us, and each one of our hard-working staff.

“We are committed to making life easier for our customers and being more efficient for their needs. Achieving this certification demonstrates we have strong foundations and effective procedures and processes to meet our customers’ expectations.”

NQA, Rexel’s third party external certification body carried out a number of audits against each of the standards at various locations around the UK.

Matt Gantley, MD NQA, said: “As quality assurance and environmental sustainability continue to be a growing priority for many, including electrical contractors and installers, it is important businesses such as Rexel are able to confidently support its customers.”

Matt Gantley added: “The ISO certificates enable businesses to demonstrate it has the systems and procedures in place that preserve the integrity of the product in terms of quality in all stages of handling, while also improve the environmental performance of its operations.”

ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) is an independent, non-governmental membership organisation, and the world's largest developer of voluntary International Standards.

NQA Certification Ltd is one of the world’s leading UKAS accredited certification bodies with over 30 years’ experience in management systems certification.

NQA has more than 35,000 active certificates in over 75 counties for standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 and many more.
