Purchase of data destruction company announced

25 August 2017

Restore Datashred has announced the acquisition of Winchester-based secure shredding and data destruction service provider Baxter Confidential for an undisclosed sum.

Operations will continue at Baxter Confidential's premises and plans for future growth were also stated for the Winchester operations within the announcement.

The latest acquisition follows a number of others last year by Restore Datashred, including that of Data Solutions in August 2016.

Many of these operations have been relocated to the company's depots, but the southern location of Baxter is seen as extending Restore's geographic coverage.

Baxter Environmental managing director Seth Cowie said it was important for Baxter Confidential to be placed "in the right hands" for the best interests of both staff and customers.

"In Restore Datashred, we have been acquired by a company with similar values to us and a very strong commitment to providing excellent customer service," he said.

Restore Datashred managing director Anthony Pearlgood said the purchase of the company and its Winchester site had increased his company's "customer base in Southern England and strengthens our branch network.

"It will also provide us with further economies of scale and extends our position as the UK's second largest provider of secure shredding services.

"We've not only acquired a great business, but also a great team with a fantastic work ethic and culture," he said.
