Recognition for Watford FC security officer

02 June 2017

An Officer of Distinction award has been presented to TC Security Services security officer Adeel Usman for his efforts leading to the apprehension of an intruder.

The incident occurred at the Watford Football Club stadium in Vicarage Road, where Mr Usman has worked since autumn 2016.

He is a member of the team provided by TC Security Services to deliver manned and CCTV guarding, alongside added-value services to help reduce risk and maintain high standards of health and safety at the stadium and training ground.

Mr Usman was nominated for his award by stadium operations manager Andy Jenkins after he identified an intruder on site.

When a thorough physical search of the area proved unsuccessful, Mr Usman used state-of-the-art camera technology to pinpoint the intruder's location.

The suspect again changed position during the interim between the police attending, but Mr Usman's continuing efforts saw the intruder arrested.

He stated that the nomination came as a surprise, but recognition for his efforts "felt good".

The presentation was made at a lunch hosted by ACS Pacesetters at Royal Windsor Race Course on 24 May.

"I'm enjoying a great experience at the Watford FC site as get to interact with various professionals with whom a strong bond has been created between us and with staff who are very supportive and friendly," said Mr Usman.

He further stated that the lunch had served to emphasise the importance of the security team's work and its impact on society in general.

TC Facilities Management (TC Security Services parent company) chief executive officer Richard Chappell said Mr Usman's "diligence and quick-thinking provides testament to the commitment TC Security Services display to their clients, their people and a determination to provide customer-focused service to provide complete peace of mind".
