FM delivery of energy efficiency explored further

02 September 2016

Additional investment in the development of its specialist energy services offering has been announced by NG Bailey.

Including its FM, engineering and IT expertise, the specialist team has been further supported through the establishment of a central operations centre.

The company reports that this will provide further supportive services such as data analysis, energy monitoring, dynamic scheduling and mobile operations management for customers.

NG Bailey head of energy Chris Coath referred to the "real opportunity" presented by the wealth of data generated by buildings, the effective analysis of which can be used deliver added efficiencies.

"By being able to analyse and respond, in real time, to the data that is being collected within a building, we can help customers meet their financial and sustainability objectives," he said.

The company additionally referred to its 12-month energy reduction pilot conducted at six Land Securities facilities in London, resulting in the saving of more than 7.2m kWh and reducing energy usage by 9%, as an example of the benefits achievable through implementing energy efficiency measures.

In addition to the savings generated, further advantages include the raising of sustainability credentials.

The company's trial with Land Securities has now been extended to a further 10 properties following its initial success.
